PRINCETON, N.J. – Tasha Smith has been named the Ivy League Coordinator of Women’s Basketball Officials and will also serve in the same role for the Metro Conference, as announced this week.
Smith will serve in the role as part of the eight-conference women’s basketball officiating alliance that includes the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), American Conference, BIG EAST Conference, Atlantic 10 Conference, Big South Conference, Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), Ivy League and Metro Conference. The alliance is led by ACC Supervisor of Officials Pualani Spurlock-Welsh.

She will also work closely with league administrators, coaches and institutions to ensure consistency, transparency and the continued advancement of officiating. Smith will also work closely with Spurlock-Welsh and coordinators across the alliance to enhance the quality, consistency and development of officiating through a collaborative system of assigning, training, evaluation and oversight. The alliance will also work collaboratively to identify, recruit and retain officials while developing assigning strategies that maximize geographic efficiencies.
“Tasha’s extensive experience and established reputation across the women’s basketball landscape was evident throughout this process,” Ivy League Executive Director
Robin Harris said. “I believe she is well-positioned to meet the needs and expectations of our coaches, administrators and student-athletes and is fully committed to providing strong leadership in this role.”
