PRINCETON, N.J. -- After another exciting week of Ivy League women's soccer, including the start of the conference slate, the weekly awards were announced.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mimi Asom, Princeton (Sr., F – Dallas)
- Accounted for all the scoring in the Tigers’ 3-0 win at Yale in the Ivy opener for both teams
- Netted her second career hat trick and first since 2016, when she accomplished the feat against Cornell
- Scored the 38th, 39th and 40th goals of her career to move into ninth all-time in Ivy League history
- Received her fifth career Ivy League Player of the Week honor and is now tied for fourth all-time in Ivy League history with former Tiger Esmeralda Negron and former Harvard standout Melanie Baskind
- Also was named Player of the Week on Aug. 27
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Maesyn G’Bye, Brown (Fr., D – Ladera Ranch, Calif.)
- Posted an assist from her defensive position in the Bears’ 3-2 overtime win over UMass Lowell
- Took 16 corner kicks in two games, nine against UMass Lowell and seven at Dartmouth
- Her assist against the River Hawks came on a corner kick, as she found teammate Sydney Cummings for the goal
- First Bear to receive an Ivy League weekly award in 2018
- Plays the piano, and is interested in pursuing a career in finance or accounting
