JACKSON, N.J. -- At the end of 54 holes, Princeton and Harvard needed two more to decide the 2018 Ivy League Women's Golf Championship. Both the Tigers and Crimson turned in their best rounds of the tournament over the final 18, each carding a 6-over 288. So, last year's champion and last year's runner up made it a 19-hole Sunday before Princeton prevailed.
The playoff sent Princeton and Harvard to the ninth hole, and the top four Tigers all made at least par, with Tenley Shield and Amber Wang making birdie and Anabelle Chang and Maya Walton marking par for Princeton to card two-under on the extra hole while Harvard finished four-over par.
The title is Princeton's sixth in program history and the second time the Tigers have gone back-to-back, along with 2004 and 2005. The other titles, along with last year, were in 1999 and 2001.
