PRINCETON, N.J. - On Thursday, the Ivy League announced the 2026 Men’s Tennis All-Ivy Teams and Major Award winners following the conclusion of the 2025-26 regular season.
Columbia’s
Michael Zheng — the back-to-back NCAA singles champion— earned the League’s Player of the Year honor after finishing 10-5 overall in the spring. The senior was 4-2 in the Ivy League as the Lions’ No.1 singles player. Zheng was also a member of the No. 1 doubles duo with Nicolas Kotzen, finishing 4-2 overall with a 3-1 record in conference play. Zheng becomes just the second men’s tennis student-athlete in Ivy League history to win three Player of the Year awards (Princeton’s Matija Pecotic).
The Rookie of the Year award was given to
Nathan Blokhin of Harvard by a unanimous decision. Blokhin was the No. 3 singles player for the Crimson and finished 24-7 overall (16-3 in the spring) with a perfect 5-0 Ivy record.
After capturing a share of the regular season title, Cornell’s coaching staff, led by head coach
Silviu Tanasoiu, earned Coaching Staff of the Year. The Big Red finished the regular season 18-3 with a 6-1 conference mark, earning the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships with the head-to-head win over Columbia in the regular season finale. The title is the third in Cornell's program history — and the first since 2017 — and the second under Tanasoiu.
The All-Ivy Singles First Team featured an honoree from six different League institutions. Zheng was one of five unanimous selections along with Cornell’s
Rodrigo Fernandes, Harvard’s
Rohan Murali, Princeton’s
Paul Inchauspe and
Vignesh Gogineni of Yale. Columbia’s
Nicolas Kotzen and Penn’s
Manfredi Graziani rounded out the team.
Graziani and teammate
Aaron Sandler of Penn were the lone unanimous selections to the All-Ivy Doubles First Team. They were joined by Columbia’s duo of Zheng and Kotzen as well as Gogineni and
Edward Liao of Yale.
Additionally, one student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2025-26 Ivy League Men's Tennis Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s
Noah Hernandez, Columbia's
Sachin Palta, Cornell’s
Aman Sharma, Dartmouth's
Miles Groom, Harvard’s
Rohan Murali, Penn's
Aaron Sandler, Princeton’s
Sebastian Sec and Yale's
Eric Li were each named to the team.
