PRINCETON, N.J. - On Thursday, the Ivy League announced the 2026 Women’s Tennis All-Ivy Teams and Major Award winners following the conclusion of the 2025-26 regular season.
Dartmouth’s
Peyton Capuano earned Player of the Year honors after finishing 13-4 overall in the spring. The junior was 4-0-2 in the Ivy League as the Big Green’s No.1 singles player. Capuano was also a member of the No. 1 doubles duo alongside
Michela Moore, finishing 15-5 overall with a 3-3-1 record in conference play.
The Rookie of the Year was awarded to
Leena Friedman of Yale who made an immediate impact in her first collegiate season. Friedman was the No. 1 singles player for the Bulldogs and finished 16-6 overall (10-4 in the spring) with a 4-1 Ivy record while also serving as one half of the No. 1 doubles tandem with teammate
Orly Ogilvy. The duo finished the year 22-10 overall with an 11-8 mark in the spring season, while collecting four wins in conference play.
After capturing a share of the regular season title along with the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships, Yale’s coaching staff, led by head coach
Rachel Sapir-Kahan earned Coaching Staff of the Year honors. Yale finished the regular season 19-3 with a 6-1 conference mark and are currently ranked No. 35 in the latest ITA Women’s Tennis rankings.
The All-Ivy Singles First Team featured an honoree from six different League institutions. Capuano was one of four unanimous selections along with Columbia’s
Gayathri Krishnan, Penn’s
Esha Velaga, and Ogilvy. Cornell’s
Michele Ryndin and Princeton’s
Alice Felito rounded out the team.
Friedman and Ogilvy were the lone unanimous selection to the All-Ivy Doubles First Team. They were joined by Brown’s duo of
Abigail Lee and
Hannah Shen as well as Ryndin and
Sage Loudon of Cornell.
Additionally, one student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2025-26 Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s
