Yale Claims Men's Basketball Outright Title; Attention Turns to Ivy Madness

PRINCETON, N.J. — The final day of the Ivy League men's basketball regular season is over as Cornell and Yale both picked up victories to end the season. With the win for the Bulldogs, Yale claimed the Ivy League title outright after winning at least a share last weekend.

With the regular season over, all attention now turns to Ivy Madness which begins on March 14. Yale claimed the league's number one seed and will take on fourth-seeded Cornell. Harvard earned the second seed and faces off against third-seeded Penn.

CORNELL 111, DARTMOUTH 90
Cornell (15-12, 8-6 Ivy) erupted for 111 points while shooting 63.1 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from three in a dominant road win at Dartmouth. Jake Fiegen led the Big Red with 22 points, while Adam Hinton added 16 and the offense piled up 25 assists with five starters in double figures. Cornell also knocked down 19 threes and built a 59-43 halftime lead before cruising through the second half. Dartmouth (11-16, 5-9 Ivy) was led by Jayden Williams with 21 points.

YALE 78, PRINCETON 53
Yale (23-5, 11-3 Ivy) controlled the game on both ends, winning the rebounding battle 39-29 and holding Princeton to 37.3 percent shooting in a 78–53 victory in New Haven, Conn. Nick Townsend led the Bulldogs with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Casey Simmons and Trevor Mullin added 14 points apiece to pace a balanced effort. Yale also got 17 points off the bench from Jordan Brathwaite and finished with 14 assists to keep the offense moving. Princeton (9-20, 5-9 Ivy) was led by Malik Abdullahi, Landon Clark and Dalen Davis, who scored 11 points each.
