PRINCETON, N.J – They picked up right where they left off.
Two events are in the books at the 2026 Ivy League Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships at Princeton’s DeNunzio Pool -- and two meet records have already fallen. A year ago, 10 of 21 events saw new records set.
Yale’s 200-yard medley relay team of Lucius Brown, Alexander Hazlett, Nick Finch and Deniel Nankov repeated as champions in the opening event. After posting the second-fastest time in meet history last year, the quartet etched their names into the record book with a meet-record 1:23.55. Princeton finished second in 1:24.35, followed by Columbia in 1:25.33.
In the second event of the night, Princeton’s squad of Arthur Balva, Mitchell Schott, Parker Lenoce and Patrick Dinu shattered both the Ivy meet and all-time records in the 800-yard freestyle relay, touching in 6:09.80-- the fifth-fastest time in the nation this season. Schott delivered a blazing 1:30.30 split. Yale posted the third-fastest time in meet history at 6:13.92, while Cornell rounded out the podium in 6:20.24.
Brown claimed the diving relay exhibition, while Dartmouth finished second.
The championship resumes Thursday with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
