PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2026 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships are set to take place this weekend at The Armory in New York, N.Y., from Feb. 28 - Mar. 1. The championships can be watched on ESPN+.
BROKEN RECORDS – Numerous records have already been broken this indoor track & field season as Harvard's
Sophia Gorriaran broke the most notable one, running under 2:38.00 in the 1,000m to break the NCAA record with a time of 2:37.72.
Two more women's records also went down as Princeton's
Georgina Scoot broke the Ivy League record in the triple jump with a leap of 13.47m at the 2026 Quaker Invite in mid-January. Then one week later, Penn's
Jessica Oji shattered the shot put record with a toss of 18.45m at the 2026 Penn Elite.
One the men's side,
Jackson Clarke of Princeton broke the 200m record with a time of 20.63 at the 2026 Penn Elite. In mid-February, Cornell's
Pierre Attiogbe claimed the all-time Ivy League record with a 3:53.44 mile at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational. At the Tyson Invitational, Princeton's 4x400m relay team of York, Donaldson, Clarke, and Gant broke conference record with a time of 3:03.56. The 4x800m relay record also fell as Penn's quartet of Socarras, Markham, DeVita, and Pizarro ran 7:22.43. The Tigers' Greg Foster has had a stellar indoor season thus far, raising his long jump record throughout the year to a 8.19m leap at the Tyson Invitational a few weeks ago.
DEFENDING CHAMPS – Last year at Cornell's Barton Hall in Ithaca, N.Y., the Princeton men and women claimed the Ivy League titles. The men scored 189.5 points to run away with the title while the women's team race was close as the Tigers edged out second-place Harvard, 168-160.
LAST TIME AT THE ARMORY — The last time that Heps was at The Armory, Harvard claimed the women's title with 153 points. Harvard's
Tina Martin was named the women's track performer of the meet while Cornell's
Beatrice Juskevicute was named the women's field performer of the meet. For the men, Princeton scored 189 spots to take the trophy as Princeton's
Andrei Iosivas was named the men's field performer of the meet. For the track events,
Acer Iverson of Harvard claimed the men's track performer of the meet honor.
