ITHACA, N.Y. — The first day off the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships saw multiple facility records broken as the Cornell men and Princeton women lead heading into Sunday.
WOMEN
Medals were awarded for five women's events as the podium filled up for the long jump, weight throw, pole vault, 3000m run, and pentathlon.
The first event to score points on the women's side was the pole vault as Harvard's
Ella McRitchie earned her first pole vault title with a mark of 4.36m as her teammate,
Anastasia Retsa, claimed the silver medal to earn 18 total team points for the Crimson.
The next two events to earn points in the event were the women's 3000m and the long jump in which Princeton took home the titles in both events. Princeton's
Mena Scatchard broke the facility record in the 3000m run with a time of 9:11.80. Directly after, the Tigers'
Alexandra Kelly returned to the top of the podium with a 6.25m.
To round out the day, the Tigers notched two more titles as
Julia Jongejeugd (Pentathlon) and
Angela McAuslan-Kelly (Weight Throw) both earned gold medals. Jongejeugd narrowly edged out Penn's
Amelia Kristen by four points in the pentathlon as McAuslan-Kelly took down defending champion,
Emilia Kolokotroni with a mark of 20.21m.

MEN
On the men's side, medals were awarded in four events (3000m run, pole vault, long jump, and weight throw).
Harvard's
Kenneth Ikeji continued his dominant run in the men's weight throw with a third-straight title as Ikeji also broke the facility record with a throw of 23.48m.
Princeton's
Greg Foster defended his long jump title to take home the first points of the meet for the Princeton men with a leap of 7.58m.
Later on in the day, Cornell had two champions as the Big Red lead after the first day of Heps in their very own Barton Hall. First,
Pierre Attiogbe broke the facility record in the 3000m before
Eli Gault-Crabb cleared 5.35m in the pole vault to take the title.
