PRINCETON, N.J. – After a strong weekend for Ivy League men’s lacrosse that included four wins over teams ranked or receiving votes, three Ivies were honored with men’s lacrosse weekly awards, including Cornell’s
CJ Kirst, Penn’s
Emmet Carroll and Brown’s
Connor Foley.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
CJ Kirst, Cornell (Sr., A – Bernardsville, N.J.)
- Outscored No. 12 Denver all by himself in No. 4 Cornell’s 15-5 rout of the Pioneers, registering six goals on six shots along with two assists for eight points
- Also had a pair of ground balls in the victory
- Had three goals and two assists in the first half alone, setting the tone as the Big Red raced out to a 10-1 lead at halftime
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Emmet Carroll, Penn (Sr., G – Rye, N.Y.)
- Made 14 saves and allowed just one goal (.933 save percentage) in the No. 13 Penn’s win over then-No. 18 Delaware
- Also had eight saves in Penn’s win over UAlbany on Tuesday
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Connor Foley, Brown (So., G – Grafton, Mass)
- Tallied 37 saves over two games for the Bears
- Recorded 18 saves in Brown’s narrow 8-7 loss at Boston University on Tuesday, and also scored a goal
- Had 19 saves and a caused turnover in Brown’s 7-6 win over RV Providence on Saturday
