Princeton Captures 2025 Ivy League Field Hockey Tournament Title

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — It was another epic matchup between two of the nation’s top field hockey teams – No. 1 seeded Harvard and No. 2 Princeton – but Princeton edged Harvard, 2-1 in the Ivy League tournament championship game at Berylson Field on Sunday afternoon. It was Princeton’s first-ever Ivy League field hockey tournament title.

After a scoreless first quarter, Princeton opened the scoring in the 18th minute when Pru Lindsey converted a penalty stroke to give the Tigers a 1–0 lead. Harvard equalized before halftime as senior Lara Beekhuis sent a reverse chip into the far corner in the 27th minute, bringing the match level at 1–1 heading into the break.

Not long into the third period, Harvard goalie Linde Burger made a stop on a penalty stroke by Beth Yeager, however moments later, Yeager earned redemption and capitalized on a penalty corner opportunity, finishing off her signature drag flick set up by Izzy Morgan and Lilly Wojcik to put Princeton ahead 2–1. Harvard continued to apply pressure throughout the fourth quarter, earning several penalty corners and outshooting Princeton in the final frame, but the Tigers’ defense held firm to close out the match.

Princeton improved to 15–3 overall, while Harvard moved to 17–1. The game served as a showcase of top-tier Ivy League competition and highlighted the strong form of both programs as they head into postseason play.

Princeton has earned the Ivy League’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Field Hockey tournament field will be determined during the selection show airing tonight at 10:00 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
