PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard and Yale all recorded league wins as the first full Ivy vs. Ivy slate of games of the season came to a close on Saturday.
No. 14 Harvard now sits alone atop the Ivy League standings at 3-0 (6-0 overall) as Dartmouth, Penn, Princeton and Yale remain just a game behind at 2-1. The Crimson are one of seven remaining unbeaten teams in the FCS.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 24
RV DARTMOUTH 49, COLUMBIA 3
6 p.m. // Hanover, N.H. // Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field
- Dartmouth (5-1, 2-1 Ivy) cruised to a 49–3 victory over Columbia (1-5, 0-3 Ivy), outgaining Columbia 358–271, in Hanover, N.H.
- Dartmouth quarterback Grayson Saunier fueled the offense, accounting for four total touchdowns — three on the ground and one through the air — while completing 12 of 13 passes for 162 yards.
- The Big Green defense and special teams delivered big plays, including Tyson Grimm’s 75-yard pick-six and No’Koi Maddox’s blocked punt return for a touchdown, both in the first quarter.
- Running back D.J. Crowther averaged 5.7 yards per carry, rushing for 103 yards on 18 carries.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25
NO. 14 HARVARD 35, PRINCETON 14
12 p.m. // Princeton, N.J. // Princeton Stadium
- No. 14 Harvard (6-0, 3-0 Ivy) shut out Princeton (3-3, 2-1 Ivy) in the second half, scoring 14 unanswered to take home a 35–14 victory.
- Harvard quarterback Jaden Craig completed 16 of 29 passes for 216 yards and one touchdown.
- The Crimson totaled 259 yards on the ground, led by Xaviah Bascon who carried 13 times for 101 yards and a touchdown.
- Princeton’s Kai Colón completed 19 of 31 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns.
YALE 35, RV PENN 13
12 p.m. // New Haven, Conn. // Yale Bowl
- Yale (4-2, 2-1 Ivy) earned a home win over Penn (4-2, 2-1 Ivy) as both teams remain one game back from first-place in the Ivy League standings.
- Yale QB Dante Reno orchestrated several big plays, including a 26-yard TD pass to Jaxton Santiago and a 33-yard TD pass to Nico Brown.
- Brown led the way for the Bulldogs through the air, hauling in two touchdown catches (19-yards and 33-yards) while totaling eight catches for 121 yards.
- On the other side, Penn’s offense was led by QB Liam O’Brien and WR Jared Richardson who continued his impressive season, hauling in six passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.
- Yale’s Abu Kamara returned a fumble 63 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter, marking his third defensive touchdown in his last seven games played.
CORNELL 30, BROWN 24 (2OT)
1 p.m. // Ithaca, N.Y. // Schoellkopf Field
- Cornell (2-4, 1-2 Ivy) earned its first Ivy League victory of the season with a comeback double overtime victory over Brown (3-3, 0-3 Ivy), 30-24.
- Trailing 17-6 late in the fourth quarter, the Big Red scored 11 points in the final four minutes to force overtime.
- Brown scored first in overtime to take a 24-17 lead, but the Big Red responded with a touchdown of their own before Jordan Triplett’s one-yard touchdown run proved to be the game-winner for Cornell.
- Cornell QB Garrett Bass-Sulpizio threw for 346 yards and ran for 70 yards and a touchdown on the ground to lead the offensive attack for the Big Red.
- On the other side, James Murphy accounted for 468 passing yards and two touchdowns through the air.
