Penn, Princeton Earn League Wins; Ivies Wrap Non-Conference Play with 4-0 Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. – Penn and Princeton each recorded Ivy League wins, while the league went 4-0 in non-conference play on Saturday.
 
The league concluded non-conference play with a record of 16-8 -- marking the 13th time in the last 15 seasons that it has finished .500 or better outside Ivy competition. Since 2017, Ivy teams have compiled a 135-57 (.703) record.
 
A five-week sprint of Ivy vs. Ivy clashes now awaits to determine which team will earn the league’s first-ever automatic bid to the FCS playoffs. Harvard, Penn, and Princeton sit atop the league standings at 2-0 in Ivy play. The Crimson and Tigers will meet next Saturday in Princeton in a battle for the top spot, while the Quakers have a road test with Yale. 
 
PRINCETON 40, RV BROWN 21
12 p.m. // Providence, R.I. // Richard Gouse Field at Brown Stadium
  • Princeton (3-2, 2-0 Ivy) forced four turnovers in a 40-21 victory over Brown (3-2, 0-2 Ivy).
  • Princeton running back Ethan Clark rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
  • Quarterback Kai Colón completed 19 of 29 passes for 212 yards and two touchdowns.
  • Receiver Josh Robinson, the two-time reigning Ivy League Rookie of the Week, hauled in eight receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown.
  • Nasir Hill, Jalen Jones, and Torian Roberts each recorded interceptions for the Tigers.
  • Brown running back Matt Childs ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns on 14 attempts.
 
NO. 18 HARVARD 31, MERRIMACK 7
12 p.m. // Cambridge, Mass. // Tim Murphy Field at Harvard Stadium
  • Harvard (5-0, 2-0 Ivy) stayed unbeaten with a 31-7 win over Merrimack (3-5). The Crimson has now outscored opponents 224-55 this season and remains one of just eight unbeaten teams in the FCS.
  • Harvard running back DJ Gordon rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries.
  • Quarterback Jaden Craig went 17-of-29 for 305 yards and a touchdown.
  • Safety Ty Bartrum led the defense with 11 tackles.
 
YALE 47, STONEHILL 7
12 p.m. // New Haven, Conn. // Yale Bowl
  • Yale (3-2, 1-1 Ivy) delivered a dominant 47-7 victory over Stonehill (2-5, 1-1 NEC), piling up 481 yards of offense while limiting the Skyhawks to just 152.
  • Yale receiver Jaxton Santiago posted a career day with five catches for a career-high 150 yards and a touchdown.
  • Quarterback Dante Reno completed 16 of 24 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown.
  • Running back Josh Pitsenberger rushed for two scores, bringing his season total to eight.
 
RV DARTMOUTH 30, FORDHAM 13
1 p.m. // Bronx, N.Y. // Jack Coffey Field
  • Dartmouth (4-1, 1-1 Ivy) outscored Fordham (1-6, 1-2 Patriot) 24-7 in the second half to secure a 30-13 win and a perfect 3-0 non-conference record.
  • The Grayson-to-Grayson connection shined again, as quarterback Grayson Saunier found receiver Grayson O’Bara seven times for 104 yards and a touchdown.
  • O’Bara -- who entered the season with 254 career receiving yards -- notched his third 100-yard game of the year.
  • Saunier completed 21 of 29 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns, adding 45 rushing yards.
  • Linebacker Zyion Freer-Brown led the defense with eight tackles, including two for loss.
CORNELL 30, BUCKNELL 20
1 p.m. // Ithaca, N.Y. // Schoellkopf Field
  • Cornell (1-4, 0-2 Ivy) rushed for 232 yards in a 30-20 win over Bucknell (4-4, 1-2 Patriot).
  • Running back Jordan Triplett led the ground attack with 107 yards on 22 carries.
  • Quarterback Garrett Bass-Sulpizio threw for 164 yards and a touchdown, while adding two rushing scores
  • Linebacker Keith Williams Jr. had a team-high nine tackles and recorded the first two interceptions of his career.
RV PENN 35, COLUMBIA 21
1:30 p.m. // New York, N.Y. // Robert K. Kraft Field at Lawrence A. Wien Stadium
  • Penn (4-1, 2-0 Ivy) topped Columbia (1-4, 0-2 Ivy) by a score of 35-21.
  • Receiver Jared Richardson, the reigning national Offensive Player of the Week, caught six passes for 157 yards and three touchdowns. Richardson became the sixth player in Penn history to surpass 2,000 career receiving yards. Through five games, he has 41 receptions for 628 yards and eight touchdowns.
  • Quarterback Liam O’Brien totaled 353 yards of offense and accounted for five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing).
  • Linebacker Cole Olsztyn posted six tackles, including 2.5 for loss, forced two fumbles, and broke up a pass.
  • Columbia quarterback Caleb Sanchez was 27-for-47 through the air for 311 yards and two touchdowns.
