Brown, Columbia, and Yale Earn Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. – Ivy League play began last weekend as the race for a spot in the Ivy League Women's Soccer Tournament is on. Brown's Ella Weil and Yale's Ellie Rappole split this week's Offensive Player of the Week award while Columbia's Dema Elder claimed the Defensive award.
 
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ella Weil, Brown (Fr., M - Culver City, Calif.)
  • Scored the game-wnning goal in the 78th minute to give Brown a 2-1 win over Harvard in the Ivy League opener.
CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ellie Rappole, Yale (Sr., M/F - Winchester, Mass.)
  • Helped lift Yale to a 2-1 win over Dartmouth in the Bulldogs' Ivy League opener.
  • Tallied the game-winning goal in the 85th minute.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Dema Elder, Columbia (Fr., M - Dearborn, Mich.)
  • Scored her first career goal and added an assist to lead Columbia to a 3-0 road win over Penn.
  • Led the Lions' backline, earning Columbia's second shutout win in a row.
