PRINCETON, N.J. – Following the second week of action in the Ivy League women's soccer season, Columbia's
Nata Ramirez earned the Offensive Player of the Week award while Cornell's
Gaby Gonzalez claimed the Defensive Player of the Week honor.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nata Ramirez, Columbia (Sr., F - Elizabeth, N.J.)
- Scored three goals in Columbia's 4-4 draw against Tennessee Tech.
- Ramirez opened the scoring in the 50th minute before scoring again in the 64th and 89th minutes with the last goal proving to be the game-tying goal.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gaby Gonzalez, Cornell (Jr., D - Westport, Conn.)
- Played all 180 minutes on Cornell's back line, posting a 1-0-1 record against No. 25-ranked Buffalo and then-unbeaten Syracuse.
- Held both teams to a combined two goals and 10 shots on goal while increasing Big Red's unbeaten streak in non-conference matches to a program-record 14 contests.
- Assisted on Cornell's opening goal against Syracuse, heading a corner kick off the crossbar.
