PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set to take place this weekend at Weaver Stadium in Princeton, N.J., from May 4-5. The championships can be watched both days on ESPN+ starting at 12 p.m. ET.

BROKEN RECORDS
The Ivy League outdoor season has been filled with stellar performances as four Ivy League records have already been broken in Heptagonal events. Harvard's Maia Ramsden continues to shatter records for the Crimson as she improved upon her own Ivy League record in the 1500m run with a time of 4:07.30 which not only leads the Ivy League, but also the entire NCAA.

Penn's Isabella Whittaker and Princeton's Tessa Mudd carry over impressive performances from the indoor season to the outdoor season as both have rewritten the Ivy League record books. Whittaker broke the record in the 400m dash with a time of 51.14 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational while Mudd raised the bar in the pole vault, clearing a mark of 4.25m at the Larry Ellis Invitational.

Whittaker was also a part of Penn's 4x400m relay team with Jocelyn Niemiec, Aliya Garozzo, and Christiana Nwachuku that broke the record with a time of 3:29.29 at last weekend's Penn Relays.

NATIONALLY-RANKED TEAMS
Heading into the weekend, the Harvard women are nationally-ranked in the USTFCCCA Track & Field Rating Index. The Crimson come in at No. 19 in the nation while all 16 men's and women's programs are also regionally-ranked in the top-15 of their respective regions.

DEFENDING CHAMPS
Last year, the Harvard men and women left Franklin Field in Philadelphia with the team titles as the men racked up 203 points while the women earned 193 points. The Princeton men and women finished in the second place in both competitions with 137 points and 160 points, respectively.

NATIONAL SUCCESS
Last year, the Ivy League represented well at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Austin, Texas as three Ivies won national titles while seven total Ivies were named First Team All-America. Harvard's Kenneth Ikeji and Stephanie Ratcliffe won the titles in the men's and women's hammer throw while Ramsden took home the title in the 1500m run.
