PRINCETON, N.J. — In what was a dramatic matchup between Princeton and Harvard for the Ivy League women's tennis title, the Tigers outlasted the Crimson, 4-3, to earn their fifth-consecutive championship.

With the win, the Tigers claim their 18th title in program history and the second for Head Coach Jamea Jackson. With the win, the Tigers improved to 6-1 in Ivy League play and 15-6 overall and earned the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Princeton earned the doubles point thanks to victories from Maia Sung/Bella Chhiv and Neha Valaga/Alice Ferlito.

Then, the Tigers fell into a deficit in singles, 3-1, before rallying back. Velaga outlasted Harvard's Holly Fischer in a three-set thriller, 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 1 then Madeleine Jessup upended Harvard's Maxi Duncan 2-6, 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4.

The match came down to Ferlito and Harvard's Kate Him at No. 5 in another three-setter, with Ferlito providing the heroic 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 victory to clinch the match for Princeton.
