Two National Champions Crowned at NCAA Indoor Championships

PRINCETON, N.J. — Two Ivies walked away from the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships as national champions as Harvard’s Kenneth Ikeji and Maia Ramsden took the top spot on the podium at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
 
Ikeji got the championships started on the right foot for the Ivy League as the London, England, native earned the first gold medal of the championships in the men’s weight throw. Ikeji finished atop the podium with a throw of 24.32 m (79'9.5"), becoming a two-time NCAA national champion after taking home the men's hammer throw crown at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas last season.

Ramsden also earned her second national title, this time in the women’s mile breaking the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships meet record with a run of 4:25.13. The title adds to already impressive resume that saw Ramsden capture the national title in the 1,500m at the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
 
Also from Harvard, Tito Alofe (high jump) and Daniel Falode (triple jump) both earned Second Team All-America honors for their efforts.
 
Also competing in the men’s field events was Penn’s duo of James Rhoads and Scott Toney who finished fourth and fifth, respectively to earn First Team All-America honors.
 
On the women’s pole vault, Princeton’s Tessa Mudd placed 13th to earn Second Team All-America honors, achieving a mark of 4.15m.
 
Also competing for the Quakers, Kampton Kam, Isabella Whittaker, and the women’s 4x400m relay team of Christiana Nwachuku, Jocelyn Niemiec, Aliya Garozzo, and Moforehan Abinusawa all earned Second Team All-America.
 
Columbia’s Phoebe Anderson was named a Second Team All-American after finishing 10th in the women’s 5k with a time of 15:37.21.
