BOSTON. – The 2024 Ivy League Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships are set for Feb. 28-March 2 at Blodgett Pool on the campus of Harvard University.
There are several individual returning champions listed on the psych sheet, including multiple events that return more than one champion.
Harvard’s Will Grant brings five individual Ivy titles into the meet. A three-time champion in the 200 back, Grant will look to join Dan Scevchik, Harvard (2000-03), the event’s only four-time champion. The Waco, Texas, native has claimed the last two 100 back titles. The 100 back also features Cornell’s Paige daCosta, the 2020 Ivy League champion.
Both breaststroke race feature Ivy champions. Columbia’s Demirkan Demir has won the last two 100 breast title. Demir along with Brown’s Jack Kelly and Penn’s Matthew Fallon own seven of the event’s top 10 fastest times in meet history. In the 200 back, the trio holds eight of the event’s top 10 fastest times. Fallon holds the meet record time of 1:51.44, which he set in 2022 to win the title. Last year Demir won the event in 1:52.94.
The 1000 free has three past champions listed on the psych sheet in Harvard’s Cole Kuster (2020) and Shane Washart (2022) the reigning champ in Columbia’s Adam Wu. Washart also claimed the 1,650 free title in 2022.
Harvard secured its sixth consecutive title last season with 1,545 points. Princeton (1,433.5) and Yale (1,052) each surpassed the 1000 point marker. Columbia played fourth with 975.5 points. Brown (887) edged Penn (879) for the fifth place spot. Cornell (695) and Dartmouth (373) rounded out the scoring.
