PRINCETON, N.J. — Jason Vigilante was voted Coach of the Year following the 2024 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field championship. In his first year at the helm for the Tigers, Vigilante led Princeton to their 25
th overall men’s indoor Heps title.
The Princeton men scored 168 points to take home the top spot as both Cornell (115) and Penn (106) also ecliped the 100-point mark. Harvard scored 81 points to round out the top half of the standings as Brown, Dartmouth, Yale, and Columbia claimed the remaining spots.
Penn’s
Ryan Matulonis was named Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after breaking the Ivy League record in the 500m run with a time of 1:01.22. Matulonis was also a a part of the Quaker 4x440y relay team that finished second, earning eight points for Penn.
Kenneth Ikeji repeated as the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after a stellar showing in the weight throw. Ikeji broke the Ivy League record on three consecutive throws to take home the title. His fifth attempt achieved a mark of 24.39m which ranks as the best throw in the NCAA this season.
Additionally, one Ivy League men’s indoor track and field student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and in sport as members of the 2023-24 Ivy League Men’s Indoor Track and Field Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s
