CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Princeton men claimed their 25th all-time Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field Title on Sunday evening, scoring 168 points for the win.
Princeton’s Philip Kastner won the heptathlon by claiming 5,591 points.
Cornell’s Damian Hackett took home a first-place finish in the mile after crossing in 4:03.90.
Penn’s Shane Gardner snagged a first-place finish with an indoor season-best effort of 7.83.
Harvard’s Gregory Lapit notched a first-place effort with a time of 47.52.
The Quakers’ rookie Ryan Matulonis turned in an Ivy League, meet and indoor season best of 1:01.22 to win the 500m by 1.5 seconds. Teammate Dimitri Nicholson claimed the title in the 60m with a personal-best effort of 6.71.
Princeton’s Samuel Rodman bested the field in the 800m after crossing the line in 1:48.65. His teammates, Collin Boler and Harrison Witt, went one-two in the 1,000m. Boler won the event in 2:22.28 while Witt finished in 2:22.44.
The Tigers’ trio of Jackson Clarke, Zachary Della Rocca and Joey Gant took the medal stand in the 200m. Clarke won in a meet record 21.15 while Della Rocca (21.21) and Gant (21.36) were right behind him. Teammate Nicholas Bendtsen won the 5,000m with an effort of 14:01.76.
Cornell’s Brad Morell won the shot put with an indoor season best and personal-best mark of 18.50m.
Harvard’s Daniel Falode won the triple jump after posting an effort of 15.96m.
Kampton Kam (Penn) claimed the high jump championship after clearing 2.18m.
Colden Longley, Michael Mazero, Mario Xerri and Damian Hackett won the distance medley relay for Cornell, edging Dartmouth with a time of 9:56.62.
The 4x800 relay team of Jordan Kaplan, Connor McCormick, Boler and Rodman of Princeton won the title with an indoor season best of 7:32.85.
Princeton’s Kavon Miller, Jackson Clarke, Gant and Anderson Dimon notched a victory in the 4x440 with a time of 3:12.13.
