PRINCETON, N.J. – Cornell’s
Veer Chotrani and Penn’s
Salman Khalil earned Ivy League men’s squash postseason awards following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
Chotrani was voted Player of the Year while Khalil was named the Rookie of the Year. Princeton head coach
Sean Wilkinson earned Ivy League Coach of the Year honors. All were unanimous selections.
Chotrani boasted a perfect record of 6-0 in league play for the Big Red at the No. 1 position.
In his freshman campaign, Khalil posted a mark of 4-2 at No. 1, helping lead the Quakers to a share of the Ivy League title.
Wilkinson led the Tigers to a 5-1 record and a share of the Ivy League title, the program’s first since 2013.
Five teams were represented on the All-Ivy team. Penn and Princeton led the way with three honorees each.
Omar Hafez, Khalil and
Nick Spizzirri were the Quakers All-Ivy performers.
Karim Elbabary,
Hollis Robertson and
Thomas Rosini were the Tigers representatives.
Harvard had the next most honorees with two:
Omar Azzam and
David Costales.
Cornell (
Veer Chotrani) and Yale (
Yee Xian Siow) each had representatives on the team.
Additionally, one Ivy League men's squash student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2023-24 Ivy League Men's Squash Academic All-Ivy team. Columbia's
