PRINCETON, N.J. — Following a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as well as an Ivy League title, Penn has been selected as the unanimous favorite in the 2024 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
Penn received all 16 possible 16 first-place votes, earning 128 votes to claim the top spot. Princeton (102) was the only other team to receive more than 100 votes as the Tigers took the second spot. Both Yale (96) and Harvard (85) garnered 80-plus votes to round out the top half of the standings. Cornell, Dartmouth, Brown, and Columbia took the remaining spots.
Heading into the 2024 season, Penn received a national ranking of 13 in the IWLCA Preseason Poll as both Yale and Princeton are receiving votes.
The 2024 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will be held at the site of the number one seed May 3 & 5. The tournament champion will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.
All eight Ivies are scheduled to open their seasons on February 17-18. Brown, Dartmouth, and Princeton highlight the opening weekend with matchups against nationally-ranked opponents.
