Men's Soccer Tournament Slated For This Weekend In Philadelphia

PRINCETON, N.J. — The 2024 Ivy League Men’s Soccer Tournament is slated for this Friday and Sunday, November 15 & 17, live on ESPN+. In what was a thrilling regular season that came down to the final weekend, Penn earned the number one seed and the right to host the tournament. The tournament will take place at Rhodes Field in Philadelphia.

Penn enters this weekend's tournament after earning the number one seed last weekend with a 1-0 win over Princeton. The Quakers finished the regular season 7-0 in conference play and 13-2-1 overall. Penn, ranked No. 12 in the nation, comes into the the tournament led by Leo Burney (8) and Stas Korzeniowski (36), who both ranked inside TopDrawerSoccer's top-40 players. Korzeniowski paces the Quakers with 12 goals this season.

Cornell comes into the tournament as the second seed and ranked No. 16 in the nation after the Big Red finished 5-2 in conference play and 12-2-2 overall. The Big Red are led by Alex Harris, TopDrawerSoccer's fourth-ranked player in the country, as the sophomore has led the league this season with 16 goals. Midfielder Connor Miller has tallied nine assists this season, which ranked tied for the top of the league.

Third-seeded Princeton (10-6, 5-2 Ivy) enters the weekend as one of the better defensive teams in the conference, ranking third with 1.13 goals allowed per game. Forward Daniel Ittycheria leads the way for the Tigers on the offensive side, scoring six goals this season.

Brown (8-7-1, 3-4 Ivy) returns to the tournament having claimed the fourth and final seed in dramatic fashion last weekend after Harri Sprofera's 85th minute header secured the spot for the Bears. The runner-ups from last season are led by Lorenzo Amaral who ranks third in the conference in both goals (eight) and assists (six). 

Friday's first semifinal consists of a rematch from last year's tournament which saw No. 4 Brown take down No. 1 Penn in a penalty shootout. Cornell and Princeton meet again this season after the Big Red defeated Princeton earlier in the year, 1-0.
