PRINCETON, N.J. — In what was a thrilling regular season and Ivy League Men's Soccer Tournament, both Cornell and Princeton heard their names called on the NCAA selection show on Monday afternoon.
After winning the league's conference tournament for the second-straight season, Princeton earned the third overall seed in the College Cup as the Tigers finished the regular season with the best RPI ranking in the nation. Princeton finished the season with a 15-1-2 overall record and an undefeated record in conference play. With the seeding, the Tigers earned a first-round bye and will take on the winner of Duke and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Cornell received an at-large selection into the NCAA Tournament after a terrific regular season that saw the Big Red finish 15-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in Ivy League play. The Big Red finished the year at 19th in the NCAA RPI and are led by numerous First Team All-Ivy selections. Cornell will play host to Lafayette in the first round.
