Cornell and Dartmouth Claim Men's Soccer Weekly Awards



PRINCETON, N.J. — As Ivy play began this past weekend, a number of Ivies notched non-conference wins highlighted by Cornell's midweek victory over defending national champion Syracuse. Cornell's Alex Harris had three goal contributions throughout the week to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors. Dartmouth's Sam Fenton earned Defensive honors following a game-winning goal against Princeton.

Three Ivies compete in non-conference action this week before Ivy play resumes on Saturday.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alex Harris
, Cornell (Fr., F - Vancouver, Wash.)

  • Scored two goals in Cornell's 2-1 win over defending national champion Syracuse.
  • Added an assist in a 1-1 tie against Harvard.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sam Fenton
, Dartmouth (So., D - Mount Laurel, N.J.)

  • Played 180 minutes on defense for the Big Green.
  • Scored the game-winning goal in Dartmouth's 2-1 win against Princeton.
