Daria Frayman and Harvard’s
Charlotte Owensby earned Ivy League women’s tennis postseason awards along with Brown Head Coach
Lucie Schmidhauser following a vote of the league’s eight head coaches.
Schmidhauser was named Ivy League Coach of the Year, Princeton senior
Daria Frayman was selected as Player of the Year and Harvard freshman
Charlotte Owensby earned Rookie of the Year honors.
Frayman posted a 30-6-3 singles mark en route to a unanimous First Team All-Ivy nod — the second of her career in singles. She went 16-1-3 during the spring season, including a 6-0-1 mark at the No. 1 position in league play. The Moscow, Russia native is currently ranked in the top-10 of singles play by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), and ranked as high as No. 4 earlier this year. Additionally, Frayman achieved a 7-3-5 mark at the No. 1 position in doubles this season.
Harvard’s Owensby posted a 16-14 overall singles mark, playing the Ivy League season at positions one and two. She finished the spring season 9-11 overall, and 3-3 in Ivy singles play. Owensby went 12-6 at No. 1-2 doubles this season — including a 5-1 doubles mark in league play.
In just her fifth season at the helm of the Bears, Schmidhauser led Brown to an 18-7 overall record this season, the best overall winning percentage in the league this season, as well as a runner-up finish in Ivy play with a 6-1 record. The Bears currently sit at No. 72 in the ITA Division I Women’s National Team Ranking.

All eight Ivy League programs are represented between the First and Second All-Ivy squads.
Additionally, one student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2022-23 Ivy League Women's Tennis Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s
