Men's Squash All-Ivy, Postseason Awards Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. – Harvard’s Marwan Tarek and Penn’s Omar Hafez earned Ivy League men’s squash postseason awards following a vote of the league’s head coaches.
 
Tarek was a unanimous selection for Player of the Year and Hafez was voted the Rookie of the Year. Harvard head coach Mike Way was tabbed the Ivy League Coach of the Year.
 
Tarek was a perfect 6-0 at the No. 1 position for the Crimson in Ivy play, helping lead Harvard to an Ivy title.
 
Appearing at both No. 3 and No. 4 during his freshman campaign, Hafez posted an overall record of 5-1.
 
Way led the Crimson to a 6-0 record in Ivy play and a 14-0 overall mark. The Crimson hold the No. 1 ranking in the nation in the CSA polls.
 
Penn and Yale paced the league with three All-Ivy selections. Nathan Kueh, Nick Spizzirri and Roger Baddour were the Quakers honorees – Kueh and Spizzirri were unanimous selections. Yale’s Max Forster, Maxwell Orr and Yee Xian Siow each earned first team nods.
 
Tarek and George Crowne were Harvard’s first team honorees, both of whom were unanimous selections.
 
Princeton had a pair of honorees in Daelum Mawji and Karim Elbabary.
 
Cornell’s Veer Chotrani was voted a unanimous selection for the first team.
 
Additionally, one Ivy League men's squash student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the court as members of the 2022-23 Ivy League Men's Squash Academic All-Ivy team. Columbia's Sameer Saxena, Cornell’s Humza Khan, Dartmouth’s Chris Zachary, Harvard’s Ido Burstein, Penn's  Saksham Choudhary, Princeton’s Alastair Cho and Yale’s Jed Burde were each named to the team.
