Media Day (Wednesday, 2/1 at 11 a.m.)
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Following a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament as well as an Iyy League title, Princeton has been selected as the favorite in the 2023 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll.
Princeton received 14 of the possible 16 first-place votes, earning 126 votes to claim the top spot for the sixth-straight year. Yale occupies the second spot after receiving two first-place votes and 114 points. Harvard (81), Cornell (77), and Penn (72) were all separated by only nine points in the middle of the poll as Brown (53), Dartmouth (37), and Columbia (16) rounded out the bottom three spots.
Heading into the 2023 season, Princeton received a preseason national ranking from USA Lacrosse Magazine.
Ivy League Women's Lacrosse Media Day is set for this Wednesday beginning at 11 a.m. The day will be hosted by
Jay Alter and feature comments from all eight head coaches and two student-athletes from each program.
The 2023 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Tournament will be held at the site of the number one seed May 5-7. The tournament champion will earn an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament.
Seven of the eight teams are scheduled to open the 2023 campaign the weekend of February 18-19. Harvard and Princeton highlight the opening weekend as they face off against Michigan and Virginia, respectively, both of whom were ranked in USA Lacrosse Magazine's Preseason Top 20.
