Ivy League Announces At-Large Academic All-Ivy Teams

PRINCETON, N.J. – A total of 32 Ivy League standouts have earned Academic All-Ivy honors as part of the At-Large Team that recognizes top student-athletes in non-Ivy League sponsored sports.
 
Institutions nominated one student-athlete from each of its non-Ivy League sponsored sports – women’s archery, women’s equestrian, sprint football, women’s gymnastics, women’s polo, men’s polo, women’s lightweight rowing, women’s rugby, coed sailing, women’s skiing, men’s skiing, men’s volleyball, women’s water polo, men’s water polo – to be included on the Academic All-Ivy At-Large team. Student-athletes must be in good academic standing to be eligible for the award.
 
BROWN
Mei Li Costa, women’s gymnastics (Sr., Education and East Asian Studies – Lawrenceville, N.J.)
Competed on bars at NCAA Regionals at Auburn … Qualified for the individual finals on bars at the USAG National Championships, scoring 9.800 to finish seventh overall and earn First Team All-America honors … Earned two First Team All-Ivy honors after earning co-champion on bars and finishing runner-up on vault … Earned Second Team All-GEC honors after tying for fifth overall on vault … Earned First Team All-Ivy honors on both vault (co-champion) and bars (second place) for her performances at the Ivy Classic (2/27) … Set a new school and Ivy League record on bars with a score of 9.975, including earning the program’s first-ever 10.0 from one of the judges (3/6) … Earned the GEC’s Performance of the Year award for her school and Ivy record on bars … Took first place on bars at six meets, and finished runner-up at four meets during the season … Posted a season-best 9.825 on beam in the home-opening tri-meet ... Presented with the University's prestigious Joukowsky Scholar-Athlete Award.
Daphne Maniatis, women’s equestrian (Jr., Mathematical Physics – Chevy Chase, Md.)
Competed primarily in the Limit Fences and Limit Flat as a junior rider … Placed second in the Novice Flat in the season-opening Regional Show (Oct. 16) to point out of the division … Finished third in the Limit Fences at the Roger Williams Show (Oct. 30) … Named Reserve High Point Rider after taking first in the Limit Flat and third in the Limit Fences at the URI Show (Nov. 13) … Began the spring season with a fourth-place finish in the Limit Flat at the URI Show (Feb. 19) … Finished second in the Limit Flat to point out of the division at the Johnson & Wales Show (Mar. 6).
Emma Montgomery, co-ed sailing (Sr., Economics and Psychology – Winthrop, Mass.)
A Unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection … Crew of the Championship … Honorable Mention All-America.
Ugo Piovan, men’s water polo (Sr., Engineering – Vouliagmeni, Greece)
Named ACWPA Division I All-American Honorable Mention ... Earned Second Team All-NWPC honors ... Posted 223 saves and a .497 save percentage on the season ... Helped Brown to its first win over Harvard (Nov. 21) since 2018, earning Brown a third-place finish in the NWPC Tournament with nine saves and two steals ... Posted 10 games with double-digit saves ... Stopped a season-high 17 shots against Harvard (Oct. 9) ... Added 16 saves against Wagner (Oct. 17) ... Finished with 15 saves against both Air Force (Oct. 23) and Iona (Oct. 30) ... Earned ACWPC All-Academic Honors.
Claire Pisani, women’s water polo (Sr., Redwood, Calif.)
Named ACWPA All-American Honorable Mention ... Named to the CWPA All-Tournament Second Team ... Appeared in 39 games for the Bears ... Led the team with 116 exclusions drawn and finished second on the team with 60 goals ... Added 32 steals, 10 field blocks and five assists ... Started the season with three goals, two steals and two exclusions drawn against Ottawa (Ariz.) (Jan. 22) ... Scored three goals with a steal and field block against Siena (Feb. 5) ... Tallied three goals and four exclusions drawn against Long Island (Feb. 6) ... Had two goals with two steals and four drawn exclusions vs. Bucknell (Feb. 26) ... Had two goals and drew four exclusions against Mount St. Mary's (March 20) ... Drew six exclusions and scored two goals against CSUN (March 27) ... Scored three goals and grabbed four steals against La Verne (March 28) ... Had five drawn exclusions with three steals and a goal against Concordia (March 31) ... Scored five goals with six drawn exclusions vs. Biola (March 31) ... Scored three goals with two steals and three drawn exclusions in the first round of the CWPA against Bucknell (April 22) ... Drew six exclusions with a goal, steal and field block against Michigan (April 23).

Emmajane Rhodenhiser, women’s rugby (Sr., Neuroscience – Ann Arbor, Mich.)
Named to the 2022 NIRA All-Academic team … Helped the Bears reach the NIRA 15s Semifinals in the Fall … Tallied four tries in Brown’s 114-0 win over LIU (Oct. 2).
 
COLUMBIA
Nidhi Kanchumarthi, women’s archery (Jr., Neuroscience – Fremont, Calif.)
Team captain … took fourth overall at collegiate target regionals (recurve) … contributed to a Gold Medal finish in the collegiate target regional team event.

Natalia Aley, women’s equestrian (Sr., Animal Science – Concord, Mass.)
Team captain in 2022 ... high-point rider at Ivy Show ... placed first in limit flat at Ivy Show ... competed for the team and in novice at the Zone Championships.
Rachel Booth, women’s polo (Sr., Sociology – Charlottesville, Va.)
Multi-year starter … helped team to a 39-25 record over her four seasons … team won the 2019 USPA Northeast Regional title and advanced to the national championships.
Pablo Herrera, men’s polo (Sr., Operational Research and Engineering – Bogota, Colombia)
Multi-year starter … helped team to a 44-12 record … team won the 2019 USPA Northeast Regional title and advanced to the national championships.
Matthew Luebke, sprint football (Sr., Human Development – Ashburn, Va.)
Two-time All-CSFL, including first-team in 2018 ... team captain in 2022.
Miranda Lund, women’s gymnastics (Sr., Biometry & Statistics – Plainview, N.Y.)
First-team USAG Collegiate All-American on floor (2022)...second-team All-ECAC on beam (2020)...three-time USAG Scholar-Athlete and ECAC All-Academic.

Claire Azar, women’s equestrian (Sr., Government – Bethesda, Md.)

Boyd Bragg, coed sailing (Jr., English – Irvington, Va.)
2022 ICSA All-American Skipper … helped team place fourth at the ICSA Open Dinghy National Championship … 2020 NEISA Rookie of the Year.
Emily Henrich, women’s rugby (Sr., Government – Orchard Park, N.Y.)
Two-time All-NIRA first-team selection … 2019 MA Sorensen Award winner … tied for team lead with 14 assists and second on squad with nine tries … helped Dartmouth win the national title as a freshman in 2018 and again this past fall.
Hannah Utter, women’s skiing (5th, Psychology – Waitsfield, Vt.)
All-America Second Team in the slalom this year … won two races this year, including the giant slalom at EISA Championship
Cameron Wolfe, men’s skiing (Jr., Engineering – Vail, Colo.)
Scored in all 20 career carnival races he has skied in … 11th ranked Nordic skier in the East … competed at NCAA Championship and battled through illness to finish both races.
 
HARVARD
Elsa Andrews, women’s lightweight rowing (So., Statistics – Seattle, Wash.)
Has one of the top 2k’s on the team and is a proven boat mover … Rowed on the varsity eight boat in every race during the 2022 season … Helped lead the boat to a 3-2 record and a second-place finish at the Knecht Cup Regatta … Rowed in the fifth seat throughout the dual race season and Eastern Sprints before sitting in the seventh seat at the IRA National Championships … A team player who engages in a positive manner with coaches and teammates … Gives everything she has mentally and physically to every workout.
Inde Halligan, women’s water polo (Sr., Government – Sydney, Australia)
Earned Third Team ACWPC All-America Accolades … Gained First Team CWPA All-Conference Honors … Garnered Second Team CWPA All-Tournament Team Plaudits … Totaled 33 goals, 12 assists, 45 steals and 17 blocks in 2022.
 
Noah Hodge, men’s water polo (Jr., Molecular & Cellular Biology and Physical Biology – San Juan Capistrano, Calif.)
Gained First Team NWPC All-Conference Accolades for third straight season … Garnered NWPC Defensive Player of the Week three times … Served team as a captain … Led the team with 239 saves in 2021.
Nellie Ide, women’s skiing (Sr., Neuroscience – Minneapolis, Minn.)
Served team as a captain for three seasons … Earned USCSCA All-Academic Ski Team accolades … Has twice earned Academic All-Ivy accolades … Competed at the 2020 NCAA Championships.
Emma Kearney, women’s rugby (Sr., Economics – Acton, Mass.)
Unanimously voted as the No. 1 wing in the NIRA during the fall 15s season … Earned First Team All-NIRA honors … Garnered NIRA All-Academic Team accolades … Served team as a captain … Tied for the team lead with nine tries during the 15s season.
James Kitch, men’s skiing (Jr., Statistics – Belmont, Mass.)
Competed at the 2022 NCAA Championships three times … Earned CoSIDA Academic All-District in 2021 … Gained Academic All-Ivy in 2019-20 … Garnered USCSCA All-Academic Ski Team accolades.
Eric Li, men’s volleyball (Sr., Computer Science – Edison, N.J.)
Honorable Mention All-EIVA... Totaled 177 kills, 20 service aces and 19 assists, while adding 143 digs and 28 blocks with a .920 reception percentage... Posted 14 kills on a .444 hitting percentage with four digs and two blocks in the EIVA semifinals vs. NJIT... Tallied 13 kills on a .409 hitting percentage with eight digs vs. Sacred Heart on March 19... Had nine kills and a season-high .471 hitting percentage vs. 10 blocks at Sacred Heart on March 18... Reached double digit kills five times.
Christopher Wang, coed sailing (Jr., Economics – Norcross, Ga.)
Appeared in 17 regattas as crew... Took first in the B-Division at the Hoyt Trophy alongside Henry Burnes... Helped the team to a second-place effort at the Friis Team Race... Was in the lineup for the team's runner-up performance at the NEISA Team Race Championship... Partnered with Lachlain McGranahan to place third in the A-Division at the Boston Dinghy Cup... Sailed in the ICSA Team Race National Championship... Served as crew in the A-Division at the ICSA Dinghy National Championship.

Brendan McCaffrey, sprint football (Sr., Computer Science and Finance – Commack, N.Y.)
2021 CSFL Special Teams Player of the Year and first-team All-CSFL … Caught 14 passes for 503 yards and six touchdowns, leading the CSFL in yards per catch (35.9) … Had 191 receiving yards at Army, the third-most in a game in program history … Second-team All-CSFL in 2019.
McCaleigh Marr, women’s gymnastics (Jr., Communication – Newtown Square, Pa.)
