EAST REGIONAL RESULTS
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Ivy League will be represented by 24 athletes and two relay teams at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, after three days of competition at the NCAA East Regional in Bloomington, Ind.
The 24 total individuals competing is tied for the most since 2014, when the League sent 30 to NCAAs. Princeton leads the way with 11 total qualifiers, as well as the men’s 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams. The Tigers’ performance at regionals was highlighted by
Ed Trippas first place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Yale’s
Kayley DeLay placed first in the women’s steeplechase and is seeded first overall in the championship to lead the Bulldogs’ contingent. DeLay will be joined at NCAAs by
Matthew Appel (men’s discus).
Harvard will send five total athletes to NCAAs, including four on the men’s side, tied for the highest total since seven qualified in 1964.
Acer Iverson and
Matthew Pereira are the only two Ivies to qualify for multiple events. The duo will compete in the men’s 5,000m and 10,000m.
Cornell will be represented by
Beatrice Juskevicute (heptathlon),
Marguerite Lorenzo (high jump) and
Rhys Hammond (1,500m). Penn’s contingent will be featured in the field events as
Mayyi Mahama will compete in the hammer throw and
Marc Minichello will compete in the javelin. Brown’s
Erin McMeniman is the lone Bear to qualify as she will be featured in the women’s javelin.
The 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place June 8-11 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
