PRINCETON, N.J. – The Ivy League announced its inaugural women’s sailing All-Ivy teams and major award winners Thursday morning following a vote of the league’s five head coaches. All five programs were represented on the All-Ivy teams.
 
Brown’s Emma Montgomery was named the Crew of the Championship, Yale’s Mia Nicolosi was tabbed the Skipper of the Championship and Brown’s John Mollicone was voted the Coach of the Year.
 
The first team comprised of Olivia Belda (Brown), Emma Montgomery (Brown), Maddie Hawkins (Dartmouth), Aisling Sullivan (Dartmouth), Carmen Cowles (Yale), Meredith Ryan (Yale) and Mia Nicolosi (Yale). Montgomery and Ryan were unanimous selections.
 
Caroline Bayless (Brown), Madeleine McGrath (Brown), Brooke Shachoy (Cornell), Sarah Burn (Harvard), Corinne Lee (Harvard), Emma Kaneti (Harvard), Emma Cowles (Yale) and Ximena Escobar (Yale) were named to the second team.
 
Results for the all-Ivy teams were based on performance at the ICSA Women’s Team Race National Championship at the Edgewood Yacht Club in Cranston, R.I.
 
Additionally, one Ivy League women's sailing student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and on the water as members of the 2021-22 Ivy League Women's Sailing Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s Olivia Belda, Cornell’s Jana Laurendeau, Dartmouth’s Carlota Hopkins Guerra, Harvard’s Corinne Lee and Yale’s Helena Ware were each named to the team.
