Two Ivy League women’s lacrosse programs earn nods in the most recent release of the
2022 ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll. Princeton continues to sit in the No. 12 spot, while Yale moves up one spot to No. 24.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kyla Sears, Princeton (Sr., A — Skaneateles, N.Y.)
- In a nationally televised midweek game, Sears registered four points on three goals and one assist to help lift Princeton over Penn, 15-13
- Followed up with notching seven points on four goals and three assists in Saturday afternoon win against Harvard, 14-9
- Added 11 points, four groundballs, three draw controls and two caused turnovers to the stat sheet
- Tied the Princeton career record for assists at 91
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sophie Straka, Yale (Fr., M — Chatham, N.J.)
- One of six scorers for Yale in a tough mid-week loss, 20-14, to No. 15 UConn
- Helped the Bulldogs stay unscathed in league play by holding off Columbia in a 24-14 victory at home
- Led the team in ground balls (6) and caused turnovers (4) for the week
- Her first Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse honors of her career
