Key Track and Field Storylines Following a Successful Weekend

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League track and field has started the outdoor season spectacularly as multiple program records have been broken and multiple top-10 times have been set in only three weeks.
 
The Princeton men’s program demonstrates dominance on the national landscape as the Tigers have been ranked top-10 in back-to-back weeks on the USTFCCCA National TFRI.
 
STORYLINES FROM THE WEEKEND:
  • Brown’s Bretram Rogers shattered the program record in the men’s 110m hurdles prelims at the Angel Sun Classic hosted by Arizona State. He crossed the finish line in 13.87 seconds. Bretram finished third in the final with a mark of 14.32.
 
  • Dartmouth track and field comes in at No. 6 in men’s hammer throw in the USTFCCCA event rankings. The Big Green is led by Jake Dalton who most recently threw his lifetime best in the hammer throw with a mark of 62.27m. His throw placed him seventh in program history, third in the Ivy League and 26th in the regional rankings.
 
  • Haley Rizek and Skyla Wilson spent the weekend helping Penn rewrite its record book. Rizek put together a two-day total of 5,237 points to place boost her to the top of the record book, while finishing fourth in the event. Wilson, who set the record in the 100m hurdles just weeks ago, set the mark even lower when she clocked a time of 13.51 to finish in fifth place.
 
  • Yale track and field started the day on the right foot as their women’s 4x100m squad — Ava Thomas, Libby McMahon, Aliya Boshnak and Sophie Isom — set a new program record with a mark of 45.92. The previous record of 46.33 was set in 2006.
 
The 2022 Ivy League Heptagonal Outdoor Track & Field Championship is set for May 7-8 at the Dewitt Cuyler Athletic Complex in New Haven, Conn.
