PRINCETON, N.J. -- Yale’s Olivia Markert and Dartmouth’s Maja Desmond collect weekly awards for women’s lacrosse after assisting their teams in securing crucial league wins.
 
Two Ivy League women’s lacrosse programs earn nods in the most recent release of the 2022 ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll. Princeton sits in the No. 12 spot, while Yale is receiving votes.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Markert, Yale (Sr., A — Centreville, Va.)

• Contributed six goals to lift Yale over Harvard, 13-12, to allow the Bulldogs move to 4-0 in Ivy play
• Tallied four goals, second most for Yale, in Tuesday’s 20-15 win over Army
• Totaled 13 draw controls, three groundballs and one caused turnover for the week
• Sits top three in the Ivy League for points per game (3.50) and goals per game (3.00)

 
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Maja Desmond, Dartmouth (Fr., M — Wellesley, Mass.)

• Contributed three ground balls and two caused turnovers in Dartmouth’s 22-6 win over Columbia on Saturday
• Registered nine draw controls — a career high
• Ranks fifth in the Ivy League for caused turnovers per game (1.30) and seventh for ground balls per game (2.20)
• Her first Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week honors
