Katie McGahan garner women’s lacrosse weekly honors.
Three Ivy League women’s lacrosse programs earn nods in the most recent release of the
2022 ILWomen/IWLCA Division I poll. Princeton sits in the No. 11 spot, while Penn and Yale are receiving votes.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mia Mascone, Brown (Jr., M — Irvington, N.Y.)
- Mascone helped lead the Bears to a 1-1 week by registering nine points on seven goals and two assists against Stony Brook and Dartmouth.
- Registered two points on two goals against No. 6 Stony Brook with a .667 shots on goal percentage.
- Posted a career-high five goals and seven points in a win over Dartmouth, contributed two helpers.
- Tied for second in the Ivy League with 20 goals on the season.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Katie McGahan, Cornell (Gr., GK — Atlanta, Ga.)
- McGahan posted 11 saves, an interception and three ground balls in the Big Red's, 10-9, double overtime victory at Harvard.
- Posted five first half saves, then posted four in the second half and one in each of the two overtime periods to keep the Big Red alive.
- Stopped four free positions shots in win, her third time this season posting double figure saves.
- Her 11 saves moves her into fourth on Cornell’s career list with 363.
