PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Princeton men’s head coach
Fred Samara was voted Coach of the Year following the 2022 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track and Field championship. Samara guided Princeton to their seventh straight Heps title and 23
rd overall men’s title. The Tigers also took the crown at the Ivy League Heptagonal Cross Country meet.
On the men’s side, Princeton won the meet by 56 points at 189 points. Harvard finished in second with their highest total in meet history at 133 points and Cornell finished in third with 82 points. Brown (56), Columbia (52), Yale (45), Dartmouth (36) and Penn(27) round out the final ledger.
Cornell’s
Andrei Iosivas was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after totaling 10 points heptathlon by finishing on top of the podium with 6.036 points. Iosivas dominate performance allowed him to become the meet and Ivy League record holder in the event. He now ranks third in the NCAA among heptathletes.
Acer Iverson of Harvard was named Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after finishing first in the 3,000m and the 5,000m. Iverson’s performance in the 5,000m also earned him the meet record. He contributed 20 individual points to help Harvard clinch the Ivy title.
Additionally, one Ivy League men’s indoor track and field student-athlete from each institution was recognized for their commitment in the classroom and in sport as members of the 2021-22 Ivy League Men’s Indoor Track and Field Academic All-Ivy team. Brown’s
