Princeton Selected as Favorite in Preseason Poll

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Princeton has been selected as the favorite in the 2022 Ivy League Women’s Lacrosse Preseason Poll as the league is favorable to showcase another nationally-successful season with two teams receiving top 20 national rankings.
 
No. 13 Princeton unanimously earned first-place with 128 votes to claim the top spot for the fifth-straight year. No. 20 Penn tallied 112 points to finish second, Dartmouth collected 88 points to finish third and Cornell claimed fourth place with 76 points. Brown (56), Harvard (56), Yale (42) and Columbia (18) round out the bottom four spots.
 
Heading into the 2022 season, two Ivies are nationally ranked and two Princeton individuals — Kyla Sears and Marge Donovan — have collected Preseason All-American honors from US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse.
 
Official practices began February 1 with all eight teams slated to open the 2022 campaign the weekend of February 19-20. Princeton highlights opening weekend as they will travel to Charlottesville to face No. 11 Virginia on Sunday, Feb. 20 at noon.
