BEIJING -- Day eight of Ivies in Beijing saw Olympic history be made as Princeton’s
Chloe Kim became the first woman to win back-to-back Olympic golds in the snowboard halfpipe.
Additionally, Yale’s
Nathan Chen became the seventh American man to win gold in the men’s free skate — the first for Team USA in 30 years — to be known as the best men’s figure skater in the world.
Dartmouth’s
Rosie Brennan continued to dominate in cross-country skiing as she competed for a medal in the women’s 10km classic. Brennan finished in 13
th place.
Former Princeton track star
Nathan Crumpton stepped on the track in the Yanqinq National Sliding Center for his first appearance of the Beijing Games. Representing American Samoa, Crumpton finished 22
nd in heat one then improved 17
th in heat two.
Team USA and Team Canada men’s ice hockey began competition at 8:10 a.m. EST this morning.
