Two Ivies to Represent the Ivy League in the 2022 NWSL Draft

PRINCETON, N.J. -- On Tuesday, the National Women’s Soccer League released the full list of players registered for the 2022 Draft presented by Ally. Brown goalkeeper Kayla Thompson and Princeton forward Tatum Gee are the two players who will represent the Ivy League in this year’s draft on Saturday, December 18th at 2 p.m.

Thompson has been a consistent force in the goal in her two seasons with the Bears. In her two seasons with the Bears, Thompson helped Brown win back-to-back Ivy League titles to allow Brown to lead the Ivy League in most women’s soccer titles clinched while making back-to-back NCAA tournament appearances. She is a two-time All-Ivy honoree while tallying all-region and CoSIDA Academic All-American accolades. During her Brown career, Thompson has played in 32 games while starting 31. She has made 100 saves, boasting a .73 GAA while only allowing 23 goals. She has 22 wins and three ties tied to her name.

Throughout Gee’s four seasons with the Tigers, she has been a consistent contributor on the pitch appearing in 71 games while starting 42. In her career, she has scored 10 goals — six game-winners, notched 11 assists to total 31 points and registered 46 shots on goal. Her 2021 stint was one for the books as she garnered Second-Team All-Ivy honors and Third-Team United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Honors while tying the team lead in goals on the season (8) and second with points (21). Additionally, she has helped the Tigers make two NCAA Tournament runs, one in 2017 and one in 2021. Both times, Princeton advanced past the first round. In 2017, the Tigers advanced to the second round, while this year the Tigers advanced to the third round.
