Princeton Clinches First Spot to Ivy League Women’s Soccer Tournament

PRINCETON, N.J. — With its third consecutive Ivy League victory, Princeton has secured the first berth to the Ivy League Women’s Soccer Tournament, set for November 6 and 9 at the site of the No. 1 seed.

The Tigers moved into first place in the league standings with 12 points following a 2-0 win over Columbia, coupled with Penn’s win over Harvard. Princeton now controls its own destiny for both the Ivy League title and tournament hosting rights.

Next up, Princeton faces a major test in its regular-season finale next Saturday against Brown, which climbed into the No. 2 spot in the standings after a 2-0 victory over Cornell. The Bears are one point behind the Tigers.

Entering the weekend, just two points separated the top five teams, underscoring one of the most competitive races in Ivy League history. Dartmouth, which faces Yale on Sunday at 2 p.m., has an opportunity to become the second team to clinch a tournament spot this weekend -- and is seeking its first-ever Ivy League tournament berth.
