Lily Bryant earn Ivy League women’s soccer weekly awards after assisting their respective teams to key wins over the past week.
Brown (2-0-0), Harvard (2-0-0) and Princeton (2-0-0) remain unbeaten and untied in Ivy play to sit in the top positions of the standings with six points apiece. Penn (1-1 Ivy) gathered their first Ivy League win of the season and head coach
Casey Brown’s first Ivy win of her career. The Crimson remain undefeated on the season as a whole, boasting an 8-0-1 record while sitting at No. 9 on the NCAA DI Soccer RPI, No. 10 on the Top Drawer Soccer Poll and No. 20 on the United Soccer Coaches Poll. Princeton makes a Top 20 appearance as well, to sit at No. 17 on this week’s Top Drawer Soccer Poll.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kayla Thompson, Brown (Sr., GK, Austin, Texas)
- Thompson achieved her first solo shutout of the season and Brown’s third in a 2-0 win over Columbia
- She faced 12 shots and made five saves against the Lions
- Made a PK save in the 48th minute to avoid a tied game situation
- Thompson earns her first Ivy League weekly award of 2021, named Player of the Week twice in 2019
- Collected First Team CoSIDA Academic All-District Accolades in 2020
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Lily Bryant, Princeton (Fr., M, Brookline, Mass.)
- Bryant tallied four points over the week to contribute to Princeton’s wins over Bucknell and Dartmouth
- Assisted the first and third goals at Dartmouth to help lead the Tigers to a 2-0 record in Ivy play
- Scored the first goal in less than five minutes in a 6-1 win over Bucknell
- Bryant grabs her first career Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors
- Participated in the ECNL National Training Camp with club team FC Stars
