No. 12 Harvard Hosts No. 14 Princeton in Battle of Undefeated Ivies

PRINCETON, N.J. -- The top two teams in the Ivy League will battle once again this weekend, as No. 12 Harvard field hockey will host No. 14 Princeton in what has become one of the great rivalries in college field hockey.

Over the past four completed seasons, the Crimson and the Tigers have split Ivy League titles, with Harvard winning in 2016 and 2018, and Princeton winning in 2017 and 2019. In all four of those years, the winner of the Harvard-Princeton regular season game has determined which team wins the conference crown.

Harvard enters the game riding a seven-game win streak to sit at 12-1 overall. The Crimson lead the nation with a 0.37 goals-against average, having allowed just five goals in regulation all season in 13 contests. Junior goalkeeper Ellie Shahbo is also tops in the country with a .875 save percentage.

Princeton has won five games in a row after taking down No. 5 Penn State in a 3-2 overtime thriller last weekend. The Tigers boast one of the most prolific offenses in the country, ranking fifth in goals per game and seventh in points per game. Freshman Beth Yeager paces the Ivy League with 38 points on 16 goals and six assists to rank third in the country in both goals and points per game.

Action is set to begin Saturday, October 23 at noon on ESPN+.
