Bruner, Forrest Register Men's Basketball Weekly Awards

PRINCETON, N.J. –
After leading their teams to Ivy League season-opening wins, Yale’s Jordan Bruner and Columbia’s Jack Forrest earned Ivy League men's basketball weekly honors. Bruner was named Ivy League Player of the Week, while Forrest was dubbed Rookie of the Week.

Yale, Harvard and Columbia each held serve on its homecourt this weekend to pick up victories. The teams will run it back this weekend before getting into the league's signature back-to-back weekends.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jordan Bruner, Yale (Sr., F – Columbia, S.C.)
  • Registered 23 points as Yale defeated Brown in the Ivy League opener
  • Shot 58.3 percent from the floor
  • Contributed seven rebounds, two assists and three blocks in the win
  • The Bulldogs, who have won nine of their last 10 games
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Jack Forrest, Columbia (Fr., G – Bala Cynwyd, Pa.)
  • Notched a career-high 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting to lead Columbia to a convincing win over Cornell Saturday
  • Drained 3-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc
  • With the Lions trailing early, Forrest notched eight straight points to give Columbia a 12-9 lead, an advantage it would not relinquish the rest of the way.
