Ivy League Holds Men's Basketball Media Day

PRINCETON, N.J. – Head coaches and student-athletes from all eight Ivy League institutions met virtually with members of the media for the 2026 Ivy League Men's Basketball Media Day on Tuesday, October 13, in collaboration with The Field of 68.

The program provided a preview of the upcoming 2026–27 season, with coaches and student-athletes discussing their teams' expectations, returning talent and preparations for the year ahead.

QUICK HITS
Brown Head Coach Eric Reveno –
“To have guys sticking around and comfortable with each other was a big positive. We've got great guys on the team, a good work ethic, and I feel like I just have to energize the trajectory they were alraedy on.”

Columbia Head Coach Kevin Hovde – “We developed a good, physical, hard-playing identity, which I think is probably the most important thing in year one. Now it's about how much better we can get every single day, creating that underdog mentality and being a team that's really hard to beat.”

Cornell Head Coach Jon Jaques – “It's different, and it's not for everyone — the effort and unselfishness that we expect from our guys. We want to be one of the hardest-playing teams and one of the hardest teams to prepare for in the country.”

Dartmouth Head Coach Brett McConnell – “There's huge opportunity here, up and down the roster. If you want to be good in this league, your upperclassmen have to perform. They have to lead by example, and that's going to be key for us.”

Harvard Head Coach Tommy Amaker – “I really like the growth of our program with the personnel and the guys who have worked really hard to put us in this position. I think we're in the mix of having one of those teams that can really compete.”

Penn Head Coach Fran McCaffery – “Without a doubt, this is the deepest team I've ever had. We had four starters back, two new guys who are veteran players, a really good freshman class coming in and some other young guys coming back.”

Princeton Head Coach Mitch Henderson – “I'm a big believer in the dynamics of the group, liking one another. It's not just a skill, but a trust and belief in one another. We have to think there's an advantage to having the whole group back, and we do. We feel really good about what we can do.”

Yale Head Coach James Jones – “When we have everybody on the floor playing together and playing for each other, that's the big part for our team. Once we're looking for each other on offense and connected on defense, we'll be a really good basketball team.”
