Gamewinning Goals in Ivy Openers lead to Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards for White, DelPico

PRINCETON, N.J. – Brown junior Star White and Harvard freshman Gabby DelPico netted gamewinning goals and the Ivy League women’s soccer weekly awards after the opening weekend of Ivy-vs.-Ivy play.

If the first four League games are any indication, the race to the championship will be incredibly exciting, as three of the four contests over the weekend were decided by one goal. Harvard and Yale handed 1-0 defeats to the defending champions, Penn and Princeton, respectively. Brown upended Dartmouth, 2-1, while Columbia won the battle of New York with a 2-0 win over Cornell. The League features six teams ranked in the top-100 of the latest RPI, highlighted by Brown at No. 25. Dartmouth (43), Yale (75), Princeton (86), Harvard (99) and Columbia (100) are also among the top-100, with Penn (108) just outside.
