Men's Soccer Continues To Test Itself With Tough Non-Conference Competition

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Ivy League men’s soccer continues to test itself against tough competition, with three contests against teams that have appeared in the national rankings on the docket this week.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR
  • UNBLEMISHED Yale stands atop the Ivy League men’s soccer standings at 3-0-2. The Bulldogs are one of the remaining 18 teams in the nation yet to suffer a defeat so far in 2019, have registered a win over UConn and a 1-1 draw against Syracuse and are on a three-game winning streak.
  • PARTY OF FIVE – Five Ivy teams have at least two wins on the year and stand at .500 or above. The League is 2-1-1 against teams from the Big Ten, including a pair of wins over Michigan State by Cornell and Dartmouth, and a 1-1 draw against No. 24 Rutgers by Penn.
  • UPCOMING OPPONENTS – The Ivies continue to test themselves against tough non-conference teams, and this week is no different. The League will face three teams that have appeared in the national rankings this season with UConn (Columbia), FDU (Princeton) and Lehigh (Penn) on the docket.
  • REGIONAL RIVALRIES – This week features a number of local opponents for the Ivies. Brown will play both Bryant and Providence, Cornell will travel to Canisius, Princeton will face FDU, Penn will host Temple and Columbia will welcome LIU Brooklyn.
  • IVY LEAGUE ON ESPN – Nine of this week’s 14 games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as part of the League’s comprehensive partnership with ESPN.
