PRINCETON, N.J. -- Cornell senior gymnast
Morgan Chall has been elected by the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) members to serve a one-year term as chair of the Division I SAAC, where she will continue to represent the Ivy League on the national level.

“Morgan has demonstrated strong leadership abilities on campus as well as at the conference level and these skills and experiences will serve her well in her new role as chair,” said Ivy League Executive Director
Robin Harris. “She is a terrific example of what it means to be an Ivy League student-athlete and I am confident she will continue to represent our values well in her new position with SAAC.”

As Chair, Morgan will guide the NCAA SAAC in setting the priorities for the year, filling positions for national SAAC members in the NCAA governance structure and leading the Committee through the legislative process as it formulates student-athlete positions. Her term will last through the 2019-20 season.

Chall is the second Ivy to be named Chair of the Division I SAAC, joining Columbia’s
Bola Bamiduro in 2001. Chall has been involved in SAAC her entire Cornell career. She was appointed to the national SAAC in 2018 and most recently served as the Division I SAAC member of the NCAA Committee on Academics, representing all Division I student-athletes on matters related to academic integrity and eligibility.

Chall also served as chair for the Education Team of the Division I SAAC, working to create educational materials for NCAA student-athletes with a focus on the new transfer rules, gambling rules, and student-athlete health and well-being.
