Mosenthal, Ewertsen Claim Women's Lacrosse Weekly Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. -- Five Ivies proved victorious during the opening weekend of the 2019 campaign, including convincing wins by reigning Ivy League champions Penn and Princeton. 

Following this weekend's results, No. 8 Princeton and No. 12 Penn are ranked in the most recent Inside Lacrosse Women's NCAA Division I Media Poll

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Risa Mosenthal, Brown (So., A – Campton, N.H.)  
  • Tallied a career-high eight goals in Brown’s 16-9 win over Quinnipiac
  • Tied the program single-game record for goals set in 1983 
  • Added four draw controls, two ground balls and a caused turnover
  • Dubbed Second-Team All-Ivy as a freshman after leading the Bears in points (64) and goals (55) 
  • Siblings Kia (2012) and Nika (2015) both graduated from Brown

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lindsey Ewertsen, Columbia (Sr., M – Montclair, N.J.) 
  • Scored the game-tying goal with 2:38 to play in a 13-12 win over Siena
  • Accumulated four points via two goals and two assists in the victory
  • Added four draw controls, three ground balls and a caused turnover
  • Ran her school-record career caused turnover total to 92
  • Reigning Ivy League Midfielder of the Year
