PRINCETON, N.J. – After leading their teams to undefeated weekends, Brown’s
Matthew Chow was named Ivy League Player of the Week while Yale’s
Paolo Carroll picked up his third consecutive Rookie of the Week honors.
6-of-8 Ivies claim .500-or-better marks entering League play led by Cornell (5-2), Yale (4-2-1) and Penn (2-1-3).
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Matthew Chow, Brown (Jr., M – Vancouver, B.C.)
- Scored the lone goal with 58 second left in double overtime as Brown topped No. 23 Rhode Island, 1-0

- Brown handed Rhode Island its first loss of the season and snapped a six-game shutout streak
- The Bears improved to 2-0 in overtime games this season.
- Two-time All-Ivy selection
- Played for the Canadian U17 World Cup Team, appearing in all three games in Dubai.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Paolo Carroll, Yale (Fr., F – Sao Paulo, Brazil)
- Contributed seven points as the Bulldogs earned three consecutive victories, it’s longest win streak since 2011.
- Scored the game winning goal at Fairleigh Dickinson
- Earns his third consecutive career Rookie of the Week honors becoming the first rookie to do so since Princeton’s Thomas Sanner in 2012.
- Averages 1.57 points per game, which is tops in the Ivy League
- Two-time Player of the Year and International High School MVP at Fundação Anglo-Brasileira de Educação e Cultura in Brazil
- His grandfather is a Yale graduate, class of 1950
